Abstract

Liquid crystal (LC) devices used in 3D or tile displays require a narrow bezel design to provide seamless characteristics. Adhesives for these devices require excellent mechanical properties and low LC pollution level. Reactive resins are significant components of adhesives used in LC display and play a key role in inducing adhesion. In this study, a new UV curable adhesive for a narrow bezel LC device was fabricated by introducing a multi-functional cross-linkable resin. The proposed adhesive was found to provide excellent mechanical properties and low levels of LC contamination by forming a dense cross-linked structure.
