Photocatalytic hydrogen generation using polydiacetylene crystal nanostructures

ORCID Icon, & ORCID Icon

Abstract

Hydrogen generation has been demonstrated successfully using polydiacetylene (PDA) crystal nanostructures as a photocatalyst. Especially, PDA nanofibers (NFs) exhibited reproducible hydrogen generation. TEM observation clarified that surfactant SDS would promote adsorption of co-catalyst Pt NPs on the surface of PDA NFs, and Pt-deposited PDA NFs reproducibly generated hydrogen gas using methanol as a hole scavenger under light irradiation with Xenon lamp.
