Orville Gilbert Brim: Icon of Generativity

Pages 252-266 | Published online: 01 Dec 2009

Abstract

The purpose of this collection of essays, written by five different individuals, is to highlight the many ways in which Bert Brim nurtured the careers and life‐course development of others. As elaborated by David Almeida, Margie Lachman, Nadine Marks, Dan Mroczek, and Carol Ryff, the ways in which he practiced generativity were richly attuned to the interests and talents of each individual with whom he worked. Collectively, these personal recollections underscore the remarkable scope of his intellectual guidance and contribution to the field, as well as his fundamental goodness as a mentor, colleague, and friend.
