Development and Characterization of Biodegradable Jute reinforced Sapling Pot

ABSTRACT

In this research work, modified soy-based nonwoven jute composites were fabricated, characterized, and applied in the form of sapling pot for germination of young plant. Tensile and flexural strength of developed sapling pot were carried out and found maximum of 65 and 64.6 MPa, respectively. Microhardness, dynamic mechanical, and moisture absorption of composites were also measured and reported. Sapling in jute and other pots were carried out in garden soil. Biodegradation and FE-SEM micrographs of degraded sapling pots revealed that, developed pots are completely biodegradable in nature and can be an alternative to existing nondegradable seedling pot.

摘要

在本研究工作中,制备了改性大豆基无纺布黄麻复合材料,对其进行了表征,并将其应用于幼嫩植物发芽的苗木盆中. 对研制的苗木盆进行了拉伸强度和弯曲强度测试,发现最大值分别为65和64.6MPa. 还对复合材料的显微硬度、动态力学性能和吸湿性能进行了测试和报告. 黄麻和其他花盆中的树苗是在花园土壤中培育的. 降解幼苗盆栽的生物降解和FE-SEM显微照片显示,开发的盆栽在性质上完全可生物降解,可以替代现有的不可降解幼苗盆栽.
