MPI World Education Congress (WEC) 2019: Stop planning meetings. Start designing shared experiences

Abstract

The Meeting Professionals International’s (MPI) annual World Education Congress (WEC) 2019 was held in Toronto, Canada on June 15-18, 2019. About 2,600 meeting and event professionals including Meeting Planners, Tourism Officials, Suppliers, Hoteliers, Destination Marketing Organizations, faculty and students attended. WEC 2019 presented 80 education sessions and the MPI Foundation raised over $220,000 during WEC 2019 to fund grants, scholarships and other necessary support for meeting planners. WEC 2019 Rendezvous, which is a fundraising and networking event with live entertainment, food, an open bar, plenty of dancing, and fantastic networking opportunities, raised more than $190,000. The MPI Foundation granted 89 scholarships at WEC 2019.
