Edward S. Krebs

Edward S. Krebs is an historian of modern China specializing in intellectual and social developments in the 20^th century. He is the author of Shifu, Soul of Chinese Anarchism (Rowman and Littlefield, 1998) and a number of article-length studies. In addition to recent research on Lao Zhaopian and other photo-history series, he also has studied historical thought during the Reform period (1979-present). Krebs spent much of the 1990s in China, serving five times as resident director of Duke University's “Study in China” Program.
