Edward S. Krebs

Edward S. Krebs is an historian of modern China specializing in intellectual and social developments in the 20th century. He is the author of Shifu, Soul of Chinese Anarchism (Rowman and Littlefield, 1998) and a number of article-length studies. In addition to recent research on Lao Zhaopian and other photo-history series, he also has studied historical thought during the Reform period (1979-present). Krebs spent much of the 1990s in China, serving five times as resident director of Duke University's “Study in China” Program.
