Linsun Cheng

Linsun Cheng 程麟称 is Professor of History at University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. He is also a Research Professor at the Institute of Economics, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and an Associate in Research at Fairbank Center for East Asian Studies, Harvard University. He received an M.A. in Economics in 1982 from Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and his Ph. D. in History in 1994 from Washington University. His major publications include Banking in Modern China—Entrepreneurs, Professional Managers and the Development of Chinese Banks (Cambridge University Press, 2003) and 旧中国的資源委員会一史実与坪併 (The National Resources Commission in the Republic China—Facts and Comments), (co-author, 1991). He is the translator of Sherman Cochran's Encountering Chinese Networks—Western, Japanese and Chinese Companies in China Market (2002) and Yu-kwai Cheng's Foreign Trade and Industrial Development of China.
