Abstract
The Georgetown Environmental Law & Policy Institute (GELPI) at Georgetown University Law Center recently published a report entitled "The Track Record on Takings Legislation: Lessons from Democracy's Labora tories." The report examines in detail the experiences of two states, Florida and Oregon, with so-called takings "compensation" measures. The primary goal of this research effort was to identify the lessons from these states that might be useful to citizens and policy makers in other jurisdictions considering similar measures in the future.
