Tales from the Far Side: When a Land Use Lawyer Becomes a Judge

Abstract

For several decades, I had an active land use practice in New Jersey. My practice included significant involve-ment with planning and land use issues in national organizations such as the American Planning Association and the American Bar Association, and I frequently submitted articles. As they do for most of us, these activities originated with the mixed motives of enhancing the good and welfare of planning law and drawing attention to myself so as to enhance the profitability of my practice.
