Abstract
This introduction captures the evolution and development of this special issue on the analyst’s body in the treatment room. A brief literature review, as well as our personal interest in the analyst’s body as an extension of our subjective experience, is included. In addition, we highlight key points from the papers of our five contributors.

Allison Katz
Allison Katz, LCSW, is a psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City. She is an Associate Editor for Psychoanalytic Perspectives and has previously written about the trials of analytic training. Allison presently co-chairs the Focus Series for The National Institute for the Psychotherapies Professional Association and co-chairs the Webinar Committee for The International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.
