I want to thank the Colorado prison system for being so receptive to my desperate call and their ability to engage both the inmate and myself in our patient’s last moments. The chaplain with whom I spoke was very receptive to my request and demonstrated the utmost compassion and respect for the situation. I also want to thank the patient’s family who was flexible in knowing that a response from the prison was not a guarantee. They allowed me to support them in the best way possible.
