Abstract

Researchers interviewed practitioners working in high-tech, innovative environments both individually and in focus groups. The study suggested that working in innovative environments and closely with innovators benefits practitioners' careers in terms of power, influence, and access to exclusive tools. Since the study suggested that working in the high-tech sector improves salaries and job satisfaction, practitioners may want to consider the innovativeness of an organization in employment decisions.
