Abstract
Zn(II) complexes of general formula [Zn(S2COEt)2L] [L=pyrazole (Hpz) 1; 3,5‐dimethylpyrazole (Hdmpz) 2; 2‐pyridylamine (pyam) 3; phenyl 2‐pyridylamine (phpyam) 4; 2,2′‐dipyridylamine (dpyam) 5; 1,4‐pyrazine (pyr) 6] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses and IR and NMR spectroscopy. The crystal structures of complexes 2, 5 and 6 have been determined by X‐ray diffraction, showing different geometries and modes of coordination of the xanthate ligand depending on the type of N‐donor ligand.
