A 3‐D sodium (I) complex driven by the coordination bonds with empirical formula [Na(Bs‐gluH)]n (Bs‐gluH=N‐benzesulfonyl‐l‐glutamic acid monoanion) has been synthesized and characterized. Its X‐ray crystal structure shows that the complex belongs to a monoclinic system, P21 space group, a=5.3141(12) Å, b=15.786(3) Å, c=7.8390(17) Å, β=104.021(3)°. The sodium atoms are 5‐coordinated NaO5. Each BsgluH ligand links five sodium atoms and each sodium centre interacts with five Bsglu ligands. To the best of our knowledge, 1 is the first 3D framework sustained only by coordination interactions between alkali metals and N‐protected amino acid.
