Abstract

The pure Zn and its composite (Zn-BN) coatings were successfully obtained on mild steel substrates by electrodeposition technique. The concentration of surfactants and BN particles in the plating solution were optimized by Hull cell studies. The structure and morphology of the coatings were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies. The hardness of the deposit was measured using Vickers microhardness indenter. The corrosion behavior of Zn and Zn-BN composite were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and weight loss methods.
