Abstract

A new coordination polymer, {[Co(mip)(1,4-btb)]·H2O}n, (H2mip = 5-methylisophthalic acid, 1,4-btb = 1,4-bis(1, 2, 4-triazol) butane) was prepared under hydrothermal condition by the reactions of Co(II) acetate with H2mip and 1,4-btb. The title complex was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and further characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. Complex 1 has a 3D network extended by both H2mip and 1,4-btb ligands in which H2mip employs the monodentate and bis-monodentate bridging coordination modes. From the topology point of view, the structure could be described as a 3D (3,5)-connected (42.6) (42.65.83) net. In addition, the thermal stability of the title complex was briefly investigated.
