Abstract

Two new Mn(II) coordination polymers, {[Mn(5-CH3-ip)(bib)]·2H2O}n (1) and [Mn (5-CH3- ip)(bib)0.5]n (2) (5-CH3-ip = 5-Methyl-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid bib = 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-yl) benzene), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 shows a 2D layer structure. Complex 2 is a 3D structure (3,7)-connected topology with a Schäfli symbol of (620.8).(63). The topology has been well controlled by pH value.
