Abstract

A new two-dimensional manganese coordination polymer has been prepared and fully characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, elemental analyses, TG, and IR spectroscopy. Of the compound, the Mn(II) center is octahedral coordinated with oxate acting as a tetra-dentate ligand coordinated to the Mn(II) atom and each bix serving as a bridging ligand by employing two N-donor to coordinate with the Mn(II) center. An infinite {Mn2(C2O4)2} chain is formed along the a axis. Furthermore, the 1D chains are held together via bix ligands to generate a two-dimensional network structure.
