Abstract
Nano-sized Al2O3 has been prepared by combustion synthesis. The process has been empirically modeled using Box-Behnken design method for the first time. The products were characterized by XRD, BET, TGA, FESEM, and TEM analyses. Results demonstrated that the nano alumina powders had specific surface areas between 37 m2/g and 113 m2/g. The synthesis of alumina was modified in order to achieve higher specific surface area (154 m2/g). This method has been resulted nano fibers with the length and diameter of about 150 and 10 nm, respectively.
