Abstract
A new coordination polymer, [Cd2(NDC)(BPMP)(H2O)] n (1) (H2NDC = 1,4-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid and BPMP = 1,4-bis(3-pyridylmethyl)piperazine), has been prepared by hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, and elemental analysis (EA). Complex, [Cd2(NDC)(BPMP)(H2O)] n (1), is triclinic, space group P-1 with a = 8.998(3) Å, b = 14.203(3) Å, c = 20.465(4) Å, α = 89.308(6)°, β = 94.834 (7)°, γ = 82.542(5)°, V = 2591.6(18) Å3, Z = 2, Mr = 1207.87, Dc = 1.548 g cm−3, F(000) = 1228 and μ = 0.886 mm−1. The final refinement gave R = 0.0333 and wR = 0.0704 for reflections with I > 2σ(I). X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the title complex [Cd2(NDC)(BPMP)(H2O)] n (1) displays a dia network. Furthermore, the luminescent property of complex (1) is investigated.
