Abstract

A new complex, {[Cd(HL)(bpp)(H2O)]·(H2O)}n (1) (H3L = 4-(2′,3′-dicarboxylphenoxy)benzoic acid, bpp = 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane) has been hydrothermally synthesized by reaction of CdCl2·2.5H2O and H3L with the presence of bpp. It was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray analysis. Complex 1 belongs to the monoclinic system, C2/c space group, a = 26.148(2) Å, b = 9.2104(7) Å, c = 23.350(5) Å, β = 108.357(0)°, F (000) = 2624, R1 = 0.0404, wR2 = 0.0841. Structural analysis reveals that complex 1 shows a 3D supermolecule framework structure. Moreover, the thermal stability and photoluminescence properties of complex 1 is also investigated.
