Abstract
A new complex, namely {[Cd(SO4)(IP)]n (1) (IP = 1-H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]-phenanthroline), has been prepared and structurally characterized. The adjacent Cd(II) atoms are connected by tridentate-bridging sulfates into a 1D chain, which can be further linked into 2D layer via the C‒H…N interactions. Furthermore, the luminescent behavior is also explored.
