Abstract

A new Zn(II) coordination polymer, namely [Zn3(L)2(MA)2(H2O)2]n (1 H3L = biphenyl-3, 4’, 5-tricarboxylic acid, MA = melamine), has been synthesized by the reactions of Zn(II) ions with H3L in N, N-dimethylacetamide (DMA) solution. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that 1 features a two-dimensional layer framework based on trinuclear [Zn3(COO)4] clusters as building subunits. In addition, the luminescent property of 1 was also investigated in the solid state at room temperature.
