A New Luminescent Zn(II) Coordination Polymer Constructed From Oxalate and Imidazol-Based Ligands

Pages 1791-1794 | Received 22 Oct 2013, Accepted 24 Nov 2013, Published online: 29 Jul 2015

Abstract

A new Zn(II) compound, namely [Zn3(oxa)3(bix)3]n (1 H2oxa = oxalic acid, bix = 4,4′-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene), has been synthesized by the reactions of Zn(II) ions with H2oxa and bix ligands under hydrothermal conditions. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that compound 1 features a 2D layer framework, which further extended into a 3D supramolecular framework via intermolecular hydrogen bonds. In addition, the luminescent property of 1 was also investigated in the solid state at room temperature.
