ABSTRACT
The hydrothermal reactions of Co(NO3)2, H4ODPT, bpe, and NaHCO3 give a new Co(II) coordination polymer, namely [Co(H2ODPT)(bpe)(H2O)]n (1 H4ODPT = 4,4′–oxydiphthalic acid, bpe = 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane), which was further characterized by IR, elemental analyses, and powder X-ray diffraction analyses. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compound 1 features a 3D framework with 4-connected cds topology. The photocatalytic study on compound 1 indicates that it can be used as an active catalyst for the photodegradation of orange G, rhodamine B, methylene blue, and methyl violet under UV light.
