ABSTRACT

Under hydrothermal condition, a new Cd(II) coordination polymer, [and bib = ], has been synthesized with mixed organic ligands. Complex, {[Cd(cda)(L)]·2H2O}n(1) (H2cda = 1,4-cyclohexane dicarboxylic acid and L = 1,4-bis (2-methyl imidazol-3-ium-yl) benzene), is monoclinic, space group P2/c with a = 13.312(3), b = 7.316(4), c = 14.870(3) Å, V = 1447.8(12) Å3, Z = 2, Mr = 556.88, Dc = 1.277g/cm3, F(000) = 568, and µ = 0.791 mm–1. The final refinement gave R = 0.0470and wR = 0.0505 for 4,492 reflections with I > 2σ(I). Single crystal X-ray analysis reveals that complex 1 features a three-dimensional structure with a fourfold interpenetrating diamondoid net. Furthermore the solid state luminescent property of title complex 1 was investigated at room temperature in the solid state.
