ABSTRACT

Poly(N-ethyl aniline)/iron nanocomposite has been successfully synthesized using interfacial polymerization processCharacterization of the prepared material was carried out by UV-Vis Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), XRD, scanning electron microscope, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. As per UV-Vis spectroscopic analysis, peaks at 415 nm and at 402 nm indicated the presence of a polaron band and π-π* transition of the benzenoid rings. Broad peaks were shown in XRD studies in between 10° and 40° (2θ), revealing a semicrystalline nature of the composite. FTIR analysis gave peaks at 1522 and 1654 cm−1 corresponding to C˭N stretching of the quinoid and the C˭C stretching of the benzenoid rings.
