Two novel MOFs constructed by tuning the metal ions—(HDMA)2·Cd3(FDA)4·DMF and (HDMA)·(HTEA)·Mn3(FDA)4 (DMA = dimethylamine, TEA = triethylamine, FDA = furan-2,5-dicarboxyl acid, and DMF = N,N′-dimethylformamide)

ABSTRACT

In this article, two novel metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been constructed by tuning the metal ions using identical ligand—FDA. Although both of them contain linear trinuclear secondary building unit (SBU) and infinite chain along with SBU, the different metal ions as node can result in the different connection of FDA. As a result, compound I shows 4,4-networks, and compound II contains 3-ring and 4-ring.
