ABSTRACT

A new Pb(II) compound, namely {Pb2(L)2(H2O)2}n (1 H2L = 5-(pyridyl-4-ylmethoxy)isophthalic acid), has been synthesized by the reactions of Pb(II) ions and H2L. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals that compound 1 features a three-dimensional (3D) chiral framework based on 1D right-handed helical {Pb2(COO)2}n chains. Moreover, the luminescent property of 1 was also investigated in the solid state at room temperature.
