ABSTRACT
Two new Cd(II) coordination polymers, namely {Cd3(pbdc)3(DMF)4}n (1) and {Cd2(mbdc)2(H2O)(DMF)2}n (2) (H2pbdc = terephthalic acid, H2mbdc = isophthalic acid, DMF = N,N’-dimethylformamide), have been successfully synthesized via the solvothermal reactions of Cd(II) ions and terephthalic acid or isophthalic acid ligand. Single-crystal X-ray structural analysis reveals that compound 1 features a 2D layered framework based on trinuclear [Cd3(COO)6] clusters as building subunits, and compound 2 features a 2D layered structure with dinuclear [Cd2(COO)3] clusters as building subunits. In addition, the luminescent properties of 1 and 2 were also investigated at room temperature.
