ABSTRACT

Three new cadmium coordination polymers, [Cd(1,2-BDC)(L1)0.5(H2O)2]n(1), [Cd(1,2-BDC)(L2) (H2O)]n (2) and {[Cd(1,3-BDC) (L2)0.5 (H2O)]·H2O}n (3), have been successfully synthesized by the assembly of Cd2+ ion, isomeric dipyridyl [L1 = 1,4-bis(4-pyridylmethyl) piperazine and L2 = 1,4-bis(3-pyridylmethyl) piperazine], and isomeric dicarboxylate ligands [1,2-H2BDC = 1.2-benzene dicarboxylic acid and 1,3-H2BDC = 1.3-benzene-dicarboxylic acid], respectively. Complexes 1 and 2 all show 2D layer structures. The complex 3 displays 1D ladder-like structure. Furthermore, the luminescent properties of complexes 1–3 are investigated in solid state at room temperature.
