Abstract
Novel adducts having four different metals of general formula [Fe(η5-C5H4HgSeCN)2M(NCX)2M1(salen)] [M = Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II); M1 = Co(II), Ni′(II); X = S, Se; and salen = (OC6H4CH=NCH2)2] have been prepared by reaction of [Fe(η5-C5H4HgSeCN)2M(NCX)2] with M (salen). All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment, infrared and electronic spectral studies. The studies indicate that the geometry around M in the complexes is octahedral.
