Iron(III) Complexes of 4-Acyl Derivatives of 1-Phenyl-3-Methyl—Pyrazolone-5: Synthesis, Magnetic and Spectroscopic Studies

Abstract

The iron(III) complexes of some 4-acyl derivatives of 1-phenyl-3-methylpyrazolone-5 have been synthesised and characterized as FeL, complexes, where L=4-acylpyrazolone-5 anion. The UV-visible (200–700 nm) and IR (4000–200 cm−1) spectral data of the complexes were obtained and discussed. Magnetic moment values near 5.80–5.90 B. M were obtianed for the complexes showing that they are high spin octahedral complexes.
