Abstract
and Ar4-nSn[S2P(OPh)2]n (Ar = C6H5, C6H4CH3-p, and n = 1,2) obtained by the cleavage reaction of tetraaryltin with the corresponding dithiophosphoric acids in molar ratios of 1:1 and 1:2 are white microcrystalline, hydrolytically stable solids which are soluble in common organic solvents. Attempts to remove more than two aryl groups were unsuccessful. These compounds have been characterized by molecular weights, IR and multinuclear (1H, 31P-, 119Sn) NMR studies.
