Synthesis and Complex Formation of Four New Unsymmetrical Vic-Dioximes

Abstract

anti-p-Tolylchloroglyoxime (PTCGH₂) has been synthesized by chlorination of anti-p-tolylglyoxime. The reaction of PTCGH₂ with suitable aryl or arylklyamines in ethanol between −10°C and −15°C gives unsymmetrical vic-dioximes, namely, anilino-p-tolylglyoxime (APTGH₂), benzilamino-p-tolylglyoxime (BAPTGH₂) p-toluidino-p-tolylglyoxime (PTPTGH₂), p-anisidino-p-tolyl-glyoxime (PAPTGH₂). The Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes of these ligands are square-planer while the Co(II) complexes are octahedral with water molecules as axial ligands. ¹H-NMR, IR and UV-VTS data are given.
