Abstract
Manganese(II) complexes of acenaphthaquinonemono(lepidyl) hydrazone(ALH) and isatinmono(lepidyl)hydrazone(ILH) of the general composition [MnL2X2] (where L = ALH and X = OAc, Cl) and [mnL2′x2] (where L′ = ILH and X = OAc, Cl) with the exception of the sulphato complexes where the compositions were found to be [MnL2SO4.H2O] and [MnL2′SO4. H2O] have been synthesized and characterised by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, magnetic susceptibility measurements, thermal gravimetric analysis and by electronic, IR and ESR spectra. The ESR spectra of the complexes were recorded in ethanol at liquid nitrogen temperature and the electronic spectra were recorded in ethanol and various bonding parameters were calculated. An octahedral geometry is indicated for all tne complexes.
