Abstract
A series of novel penta-coordinated mixed-ligand complexes of zinc(II) with the general formula, [zn(acac) 2 (L)](where acacH = acetylacetone and L = 3-methyl-l-phenyl-2-pyrazoline-5-one, 3-methyl-4-oximino-l-phenyl-2-pyrazoline-5-one, 3-methyl-l-phenyl-4-propionyl-2-pyrazoline-5-one, 4-amino-2, 3-dismethyl-l-phenyl-3-pyrazoline-5-one, or 2, 3-dimethyl-4-dimethylaa U. no-3-pyrazoline-5-one) and [zn(aaa) 2 (L)] (where aaaH = acetoacetanilide and L = 3-methyl-l-phenyl-2-pyrazoline-5-one, 4-amino-2, 3-dlmethyl-l-phenyl-3-pyrazoline-5-one, 3-amthyl-l-phenyl-4-propionyl-2-pyrazoline-5-one or 3-amthyl-4-nitrobenzoyl-l-phenyl-2-pyrazoline-5-ona) has been synthesized. The complexes hare been obtained by refluxing the parent conpounds, [Za(acac) 2 (H2O)] and [zn(aaa) 2 (H2O)], with the corresponding pyrazoline-5-one derivative in alcohol. Pyrazoline-5-one derivatives act as a monodentate ligand coordinating through the cyclic carbonyl oxygen.
