Abstract
Co-ordinative interaction of triphenyltin chloride with arylazophenols containing different substituents in the diazo-component have been studied. Arylazophenols from two types of complexes, viz., organotin adducts of the type Ph3SnCl. LH and organotin phenoxides of type Ph3Sn. L. The spectroscopic data suggest that the adducts are hexa-coordinated while phenoxides are penta-coordinated. These complexes have been characterised by analytical, i.r. and 1H n.m.r., Mössbauer and electronic absorption spectral data.
