New representative pentacoordinate tetraphenylarsoniumamide oxime and carboxylate derivatives of type Ph4AsL, where and and 0NCR″R'″ (R″, R″' = Me, Ph; Ph, Ph, and (CH2)5) have been isolated and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, molecular weight determination, infrared and ‘H NMR spectral data. A tentative trigonal bipyramidal structure has been proposed for these derivatives.
