Abstract
Student academic success is a primary concern for schools across the nation. This correlational research study explored the relationships of variables (e.g. academic self-efficacy, ethnic identity, gender, and socioeconomic status) among 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students' (N = 169) academic performance. Multiple regression analyses were used to examine the possible relationships between the predictor variables, grade point averages (GPAs), and Mississippi Curriculum Test2 (MCT-2) and we found academic self-efficacy and gender of the students to be statistically significant.
