Abstract

Hydrotreated naphthenic rubber oil suffers the shortcoming of poor stability against sunlight degradation. In this article, two process routes were employed to improve the disadvantage. One was the adjustment of technical parameters and routes; another was the addition of some effective light stabilizers. The result of the investigation indicates that the product, which was produced through the three-stage process (hydrotreatment-clay refinement-0.01% UV2 light stabilizer addition), could acquire the best light stability. The Saybolt color could likewise attain the >+20 level after exposure of the product to sunlight for seven days.
