An Analysis of the Drops Coalescence in Oil Emulsion Separation

Abstract

This work offers the models and analytical solutions of the equation for the thinning of the interface film in the oil emulsions separation processes, taking into account the Marangoni effect and the impact of the asphaltenes content. The estimation of the thickness of the adsorption layer on the droplet surface has been evaluated. The problems of the distribution of the droplets have been reviewed, taking into account the coalescence of these droplets.
