ABSTRACT

The rapid growth of populations and vehicles has resulted in the rapid increase in the energy demand. Due to the energy demand and fast depleting of fossil fuels, researchers focus more on to find the suitable alternative fuel for diesel. The Azolla Algae oil biodiesel is appropriate to fuel for compression ignition (CI) engine. The biodiesel blends (B20) were prepared with and without Zirconium Oxide nano-additives. The fuel properties are tested as per the ASTM standard and presented in this report. A single cylinder diesel engine capable of developing a power output at 1500 rpm is used for this experiment. The experimental results reveal that the use of biodiesel blend with nano-additives in diesel engine has exhibited the better reduction in exhaust emissions.
