Rural Energy Resources and Agriculture's Potential as an Energy Producer in Zimbabwe

Abstract

This paper provides a description of the energy resources available to rural communities in Zimbabwe. These include biomass, electricity, solar, and wind energy. Emphasis is placed on biomass as being an equivalent source of energy to conventional fuels. It also analyzes the role of agriculture as an energy producer with a view to strengthen this role as a sustainable and cost effective way of supplying energy in the rural areas.
