The Conceptual Model for the Strategic Planning of Energy Sources

Abstract

Because of the maturity of advanced technologies and the urgent requirement of maintaining a healthy environment with a reasonable price, generating electricity from alternative resources in China will become the main trend in the near future. However, how to select a suitable strategic planning of energy sources among stakeholders has not been comprehensively discussed in the previous literature and is becoming more important and complex. Accordingly, this article first discusses the conceptual model for strategic planning of energy sources, its critical decision-making factors, and then introduces an analytic hierarchy process with benefits, opportunities, costs and risks to help in selecting the suitable planning and policy about energy sources.
