CO₂ emissions and energy consumption in the US: Results from a threshold error correction model

ABSTRACT

The most important environmental problem of our age is global warming. One of the most CO₂ emitter countries is the United States. The CO₂ emission and end-use sector energy consumption relationship in the United States has been investigated by using the threshold vector error correction model (VECM). According to the results which were obtained from empirical analysis, the relationships between CO₂ emission and end-use sector energy consumption in the United State show different properties.
