CO2 emissions and energy consumption in the US: Results from a threshold error correction model

ABSTRACT

The most important environmental problem of our age is global warming. One of the most CO2 emitter countries is the United States. The CO2 emission and end-use sector energy consumption relationship in the United States has been investigated by using the threshold vector error correction model (VECM). According to the results which were obtained from empirical analysis, the relationships between CO2 emission and end-use sector energy consumption in the United State show different properties.
