Management of clean coal technologies and biofuels for cleaner energy policy and planning

ABSTRACT

Energy and environment management is important for energy policy makers as the global warming and climate changes are necessitating carbon management. Coal and biomass are the major energy sources. Focus of energy planners is shifting to renewable fuels such as biofuels (bioeconomy) and clean coal technologies. The present paper describes the need for boosting research and development (R and D) efforts in renewable energy sources. Proper biofuels and clean coal technologies policy and planning are desirable for the sustainable energy technologies management. Strategic management of energy sources would require not only the trained manpower but also knowledge management for the economical and sustainable exploitation of energy resources. Flow scheme of the integrated energy management for cleaner power generation has been suggested by the author presently and a model for clean fuel management and planning has also been proposed.
