2 PASEC (Programme d'Analyse des Systèmes Educatifs de la CONFEMEN) is an education system analysis program that was created in 1991 following the Jomtien Conference on Education for All. PASEC conducted a panel survey in Senegalese primary schools between 1995 and 2000.

Pierre André is Assistant Professor at the University of Cergy-Pontoise, near Paris, France. He received a PhD from Paris School of Economics in 2009. His research focuses on school enrollment decisions in developing countries and the political economy of development. Prior to joining the University of Cergy-Pontoise, he was a consultant on the Africa region at the World Bank.
Jean-Luc Demonsant is currently a Post-doc Researcher at the CEPS/INSTEAD (Centre for Population, Poverty and Public Policy Studies) in Luxembourg. Previously he was an Assistant Professor in Mexico first at the Departamento de Economía y Finanzas—Universidad de Guanajuato and then at the Facultad de Economía—Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. He received his PhD from the Toulouse School of Economics in 2008. His research focuses on migration, social status, and schooling decisions in developing countries.
