Abstract

The development of modern technology continues to create new problems for research workers in every field of science and its industrial applications. A striking example is the ever-growing demand for more thermally stable materials for use in a great variety of industrial applications, including air and space travel [1,2]. A great research effort has been made in recent years in the area of inorganic and organic thermally stable materials, as can be seen from a world-wide series of review articles [3–10].
