Clifford Shearing

Clifford Shearing holds a South African Research Chair in Security and Justice, hosted by the Department of Criminal Justice, Faculty of Law, University of Cape Town, funded by the Department of Science and Technology and administered by the National Research Foundation. He is Professor of Criminology and Director of the Institute of Criminology at the University of Cape Town. He is also a Professor at the Regulatory Institutions Network, Australian National University. His most recent books are Governing security: Explorations in policing and justice (with Les Johnston, 2003, Routledge), Imagining security (with Jennifer Wood, 2007, Willan), and Policing (with Michael Kempa, forthcoming, Routledge).

Jennifer Wood

Jennifer Wood is a Fellow at the Regulatory Institutions Network at the Australian National University. Her recent books include Democracy, society and the governance of security (co‐edited with Benoît Dupont, 2006, Cambridge University Press), Fighting crime together: The challenges of policing and security networks (co‐edited with Jenny Fleming, 2006, University of New South Wales Press), and Imagining security (co‐authored with Clifford Shearing, 2007, Willan).
